More on education in Malaysia........

Teong, do you remember our conversation in my room when I just balik dari Ipoh?
I was telling you about this article I read from PROMUDA, that it is time that the university realise that they are no longer masters of students, but we make the university... so there should be no sekolah menengah rules....

Today, the supply that was planned prior to the recession has produced a glut of institutions of higher learning; universities are now looking for students, except for prized programmes like Law and Medicine. It is not heaven-sent getting an offer from a local university, since there are more than 30 local institutions that provide degrees. Malaysians can pick and choose, and now the university has to justify itself to the purchaser of a degree.
