Ipoh, Perak Darul Ridzuan, Malaysia

At the heart of Kinta Valley. The capital city of the state of Perak. An opposition stronghold. Factory of brilliant people. Desolated through emigration of its inhabitants to other parts of the country and overseas. Yet... it is forever remembered by its people.

Before Teong came to my house yesterday night, I picked up an article for killing time. One article caught my attention, which titled "Maxis urges business to leverage mobile solutions".

The article is written in a business-oriented terminology. I tried my hard to understand and digest the content. The CEO of Maxis Communication Berhad, Dato' Jamaluddin Ibrahim revealed that corporations in Malaysia hardly leverage on various opportunities offered by current communication industry player in increasing their productivity and simplifing the daily transaction.

Indeed, in my view the current economic mover in all the fields should have their initiatives to move forth to a paperless era in operating their business. The initial start might not result the thoroughgoing output, but it is foreseeable that the mobile solution will bring an quantum leap in terms of company revenue in the long run. Among the advantages of applying mobile solutions in business are:
- increase productivity
- enhance competitiveness
- enhance resource management

Maxis revealed that today's communication is not merely stricted to people-to-people communication, but mobile data has successfully gained its value as information sharing and data interchange. It was registered that about 3.7 million or 35% of mobile device users are active SMS users.

So, leveraging mobile solutions in "click-and-mortar" is indispensable, I guess...
