"Chen Ming"
Oh... my slumberland,
you are always so soggy and comfy,
yet without reluctancy, I woke with the dawn,
with a plain black T-shirt and track-bottom,
I came to you, my grandparents, and younger uncle.
Chinese idiom spells out..
Dizzle during the festival of Chen Ming,
passers-by come and go, enveloped with sombre atmosphere,
asking mildly the hut, having some drinks to repress the sorrow,
the blissful child pointing to village called "xin hua".
Modern epitome..
No dizzle, no sombre atmosphere;
no roadside alcholic stalls, no blissful child, no "xin hua" village..
all are wholly distinguished.
What in eyesight are..
sunny and splendid weather,
throngs of families, brothers and sisters,
accompanied by their beloved and imps,
all are soaked in gaiety and merriment,
talk in loud, soar over sky.
Old and young, work together, touching up the statue in marble.
Values behind..
Yes.. I like this genuine relationship,
asking for life, sharing joyous moment with young and old.
Topic of conversation is not the main issue,
yet the values of respectful, high-soared spirit, careful nurturing relationship,
are something continuously pampers our soul.
To the utmost gratitude, my two younger cousins seem so energistic.
They know the culture, they know the values,
So as do you?
Essence..
A festival of recalling and respecting ancestor,
should be cultivated by all generation.
Money-obsessed world is too stressing,
young generation gradually forget their root,
under the wave of western modernisation.
Appreciation of ancestors, is vanished and get consigned to a dimly lit of corner.
Without them, without you.
So, we as the next generation,
should preserve the goodwill and be the successor,
making this thousands of billions years chinese culture,
stay entrenched and deep-seated in our mind,
from generation to generation.
