Ipoh, Perak Darul Ridzuan, Malaysia

At the heart of Kinta Valley. The capital city of the state of Perak. An opposition stronghold. Factory of brilliant people. Desolated through emigration of its inhabitants to other parts of the country and overseas. Yet... it is forever remembered by its people.

I'm an avid TV watcher. But, I won't simply over-indulge in any TV programme, and I'm quite picky in choosing the TV programme which can be very entertaining, and likewise can cater vast knowledge which I never know. More interestingly, since I'm still in my infancy of my long journey to empower english, too, I watch some english-conducted entertainments, to practice my ability in catching what's they say, and know the current lifestyle trend. You must know this reality: the english-educated group perserving its ethos seem apparently a massive distinction or gap with the chinese-educated ensemble, albeit are chinese.

So, the late show in 8TV is quite tantalising, especially the programme on wednesday and thursday midnight - a live programme from Starbucks, Sunway Pyramid. It's known as "latte at 8", hosted by an witty mat salleh, Jason Lo. This flabby dude, clad in a satin hawaii-inspired shirt and idiosyncratic mode of chinos, and with a kinda fluent malay vocal prowess: "Hai, saya mat salleh, sangat bodoh", "mari kita mulakan" etc, he manage to captivate the audiences, and his unconscious instant hilarious jokes and gestures are always so ludicrous and bring the laughter. The invited guests are varied also from the CEOs, like budgeted airlines AirAsia CEO Tony fernandes, to the celebrities, singers, actors, performers, deejays etc. I must say this programme is my cup of tea.

Not only that, the "Quickie", hosted by a pair of young and energistic duo, named Marion and Adam, is so for us to spare time to watch. They can alively compliment each other, and impeccably share their knows with the audience. The programmes that they host are quite enthralling, which are suited to the youth.

I can say that 8TV has fulfilled its pledge in providing a different vibe to the audiences. Yes, from the colourful animated layout design (which emphasis on turquoise- and fuchsia-coloured), the funny funny name for every programme (late -> latte, Quickie, english news twentyHundred, chinese news 8860events), less of advertisement, to the enthusiastic TV crew like Gary, Zack, Francessa, Kenji, Loretta and the tea lady Rose, I can notice the accentuated effort to give a fresh appearance to their audience. Besides this, their programmes are also up-to-dated. "American Idot" is somewhat another favorable source of entertainment for the youth.

Good jobs, 8TV. I should give a thumb-up. Preserve on your different vibe.
