Yesterday afternoon UM main library was floored by people. When I walked to the newspaper section, I had predicted that there is never be my turn to grab the Star paper, and my prediction came true. It was really an inopportune time! Thus, I planned to be back after my dinner hour.

Anyway, I went for the magazine section, and turned my eyes on Fortune magazine showcased in the tray, which Teong blogged 2 days ago. It was so noticeable with a Toyota Camry car model covered by an American flag in its cover page, titled "The Americanization of Toyota". Hundred questions emerged in my mind with the terminology of "Americanization". After flipping to page 40, finally I got understand what it was writing about. The terminology symbolizes Toyota's aim to transform into revolutionary way of their vehicles' exterior and interior design to enhance their market value. Toyota vehicles are declared to be highly-engineered,stable-coditioning, and successfully meet the global citizens' satisfication. Nevertheless, they are also commented of their lack creativitiy of car's design. Thus, the Toyota president, Fujio Cho take the rigorous determination to refashion the design to stay ahead, excel his compentency and sustain the global growth in the long-run goals. The "Americanization", and neither "Deutschization" nor "Italization" is used because 70%-80% of whole Toyota car sales are contributed from North America. Toyota designers also revealed that they develop a more consistent look for the brand, intending to lower the car front grille to differentiate their brand with the other giant automakers, like Daimler Chrysler's Mercedes, BMW etc.Besides that, they plan to lengthen the passenger compartment and stretch the window areas. It is believed that life will become immeasurably more difficult for every other automakers.

After going through the article, I was enthralled with 2 advertisements of Mercedes. The first one errogantly said about Daimler Chrysler effort to deploy hydrogen power fuel cell technology, which their vehicles integrated with these technology will emit water, and not exhaust. Wow! What a best effort to make a free-polluted vehicle. Second advertisement strongly promoted their Sensotronic Brake Control (SBC), which is intelligently recognise the emergency braking situation and appy full electrohydraulic stopping power. Both advertisements also successfully brought a clear, and easy-understandably message in its high-resolution graphics. The prior one showed the a colourful bird is drinking the water which is emitted from the exhaust pipe when the car drove off, likewise second one showing the vehicle with the bend-in-front logo when it was driven so fast and furious and bend-behind logo when the vehicle deploy SBC.

I also get to know with the Google's top management in Fortune Magazine, who are Sergey Brin and Larry Page as the founder and Eric Schmidt as the CEO. The article wrote about Google's intense competition from global main player, Microsoft with its new developed search engine in online service MSN and Longhorn OS, as well as the other onshore players, like Yahoo!, AOL, eBay and Amazon. But Brin and Page are really the astute and discerning young adults, who emerged as the multi-billionaire at their age of 30 currently.

It was a good magazine. I was enjoyful reading it.
