Ipoh, Perak Darul Ridzuan, Malaysia

At the heart of Kinta Valley. The capital city of the state of Perak. An opposition stronghold. Factory of brilliant people. Desolated through emigration of its inhabitants to other parts of the country and overseas. Yet... it is forever remembered by its people.

Tauke fooji is coming back to IPOH!!!

Yes, he is coming back for the long weekend, straight away after the last tutorial with our great Doctor Chong.
Hope there'll be no jam.

Will be travelling with old friend Jason Raj, hopefully he would not charge me too much for the ride, he got the history of doing that!!! haaha...

hope will have a smooth ride

Plans for the weekend:- Look for some old friends, family dinner, and of course- study properly before the new lecturer comes...................................................................

oh yeah, Kok ming, and BEn, medicine posting is tough.... how about ya?

Here's s a story for you medics:-
Last night in the ward, a patient with a history of SOB, and dunno what, with a K/C/O of severe AS, and alcoholic liver disease started coughing badly, tachypnoiec. Haemoptysis all the way. Sp02 dropped badly. Peripheral cyanosis noted. Widespread crepitations heard all over the lungs.
Impression - pulmonary edema
Management? - Neb O2, ABG, ..dunno if lasix given...
anyway, should we have treated it like an emergency?

Of course, I do not know about what is going on that time, was helping her spit out blood while the houseman took her Arterial blood. I was half suspecting she may not make it.
THis morning, I was told she passed away.

Question is, should we have been more aggresive in managing her status?

Having a gloomy mood - feel very stupid today.

Very very stupid.

European Champions' League

All smiles as Monaco sent Chelsea back to London reeling! Comprehensive 3-1 victory on the night Morientes scored a stunning goal... perfect timing... kept his cool... accurate... powerful... simply superb! :) On the night Boon Teong busy typing application letters and printing them out too... type and watch simultaneously...

And yeah... hail Thiery Henry too for his extraordinary perfomance... he can carry, he can dribble, he can shoot, and he can finish everything perfectly, slowly, and cool man even in front of the goalie!!!

Where the Malaysian government fails...

1. National Service (NS): Those who have not turned out to report for national service will be sued in courts. What the heck is this? Instead of bringing those matters to courts, the ministry and the related ministries SHOULD think, dig out, and analyse the reasons as to why many youths did not report for the service. Why the National Service isn't appealing to Malaysian youths? And why Taiwanese and Singaporean youths see that their respectives national services as something great, challenging and rewarding to them? Malaysian government should first examine the core and perhaps their weaknesses before jumping into conclusion like a moron that the faults are with the youths! And the recent rape case which was unveiled, and said to happen in Terengganu is the best evidence of the National Service's failure and fault. Truly disapponting and horrendous to hear such a news. The government cannot guarantee a safety ground for such a big public and national event, and this shows, in the first place, the government has neither rights nor trust to call youths for national service, how much more suing the youths in courts. TAK MALU!

2. Splitting of the Education Ministry: This isn't a real wise move after all. Education is a continuous process, is a never ending process in life as everyone knows and for this reason I believe, there should be a coordination between primary, secondary and tertiary education. I don't know how the Education Ministry and Higher Education Ministry work out together and co-operatively on structuring the education system in Malaysia. What I believe is that the policies behind the Education and the HIgher Education ministries should be parallel and interconnected. Nevertheless, I see that by splitting the continuos task into 2 different distinct tasks, there are high possibilities of putting blames and pointing faults on each other. Education is a long term strategy planning. It is like playing mastermind. The higher education in Malaysia is a total disaster now, because of the weak and poor policies and structures in primary and secondary education. Trying to rectify and implement solutions in higher education, obviously tertiary education, by introducing the HIgher Education Ministry is a sign of Malaysian government's short-sightedness. When an architect designs a building, the base or the ground is the core or fundamental structure which the future outcome, which is the building, is brought forth. It is the same with education. It all goes back to primary and secondary education. Using the Higher Education ministry to improve the standards of Malaysian universities shouldn't be the way because the standards are already rotting since primary and secondary school days. Don't go too fast. First go back to the base and don't simply jump to the peak without looking at the rotten root. If the government truly wants to develop and improve the tertiary education, I believe they should plan and structure the primary and secondary syllabus to be constant and not ever-changing from time to time, and know that having a special ministry to accomodate for the needs of higher education is powerless if the subtances provided to the universities are already rotten. WORK FROM THE GROUND AND NOT FROM THE FLOATING CLOUD.

Well, again, this is just another piece of opinion from me. Anytime, anywhere, anyway, there are a lot that you can talk about education in Malaysia. Inconsistency in its structure and policy-makers. Abrupt changes without thinking of the consequences. Hangat-hangat tahi ayam is the way of Malaysia after all.

hukm is great. startin 4th yr comin mon. rural health first. hav to stay in smemyih. y the hell they hav this bloody posting, only god knows.i can teach u wat i noe lah...sad thing, hukm is losing a lot of good doctors. many r retiring, some r movin on to the private sector. i dun blame them, they do a shit load of work and look at their pay. the government sholud do something. they r on the losing end.
speakin bout football, this yr's champion's league had shown quite some shocking results.. the biggest being the exit of real madrid and ac milan. the bookies had played a big role in this. y can'y they leave sports alone?

Bookies Rule Europe
What the shit man! Can you imagine AC Milan, the leaders in Italy with over 9 points, played "kampung" style football. I am eating back my own words!!! No Monaco VS Milan showdown!!! Perhaps this time around, all the underdogs and darkhorses are making it through. Needless to say.. I bet one more time.. Chelsea will never be able to beat Monaco. Again.. you will have to bet on the bookies to rule the arena again.. Arsenal.. played godly football in the beginning.. until the end played shit and lousy football.. no matter how strong the team is.. all are subjected to bookies' control.. MONEY rules the world.. nontheless.. we just hope to see good football soon.. especially with Monaco playing.. :) cheers! BTW, if you are a football fan, don't you think that Deportivo always play crazy football against Italian teams?!

Surreal but nice

“I’d have to go away today, but I wonder if I didn’t, whether you might let me see you a little or a lot maybe, See if you could like me again.”

"The fame thing isn’t really real. Don’t forget, I am also just a girl , standing in front of a boy, asking him to love her..Bye…"

The time was 3:34 am. There’ll be a long case with Dr.Chong at 8.30 am, but Notting Hill was really good. Worth my time.

I realised I can still have the mood for nice love movies. And this one is a gem, perhaps. It showed how some guys in their clumsy speech can appear so endearingly cute, how girls can say what they do not mean which may unnecessarily hurt, also how some people make moves without thinking of the consequences, causing the death of a much better chance in the future.

(I am beginning to like British humor, and understand why British blokes can be so much cuter than the rest. )

Having said that, one cannot help doubting still the reality of such love tales. Can a lady fall for a man so honestly, so mutually, and so bravely, without the mindless pursuit and persuasion and foolish attempts at impressing the girl from the guy? Why must the original boyfriend in the movie be portrayed as a jerk? Would a major Hollywood star fall in love with an ordinary chap in London?

Surreal story, but nice. Made me think.

Ben - I so agree with you. MU is so over-rated.

GIve me Arsenal anytime........ but somehow, they remind me of Choong Tan Fook, good run but miserable closing. Immature, like what Teong says.

But then again I am no football expert.

How's HUKM, macha Ben? Teach me some medicine soon, yeah!!

as long as MU doesn't win anything this year , i'm very happy. at least arsenal has a chance in the league ( i'm not an arsenal fan.. i'm just anti MU)
but i'll be glad if the lesser teams do well for a change.

i knew it! i knew it! i knew arsenal were not going to make it! true enough indeed! good thing also that monaco knocked real madrid out. monaco have truly played great football through out the competition. they deserve it. as for arsenal, they should grow up! out of a sudden they play as if they were gods but in another second, they were just shit! sigh! anyway, i will continue to support arsenal. as for this year champions' league, i will support monaco all out. ac milan are the contenders! :) final showdown AC MILAN vs AS MONACO.. haha.. wanna bet?!

Achtung: It's neither VB.net nor VBSCript. In fact, it's their emulation, called liesken.net LOL. No sign of showing-off or infringement. It's merely for fun and laughter.

Alles gute.

Au revoir.

Below is a direct translation from an excerpt in Force Weekly on 4 April 04, Malaysia China Press.

Undoubtedly, the core of Microsoft is deluge with unlimited high-calibre, smart and decentive dudes. Employement of these dozens of talented staffs is corporate's main business anchor.

Nevertheless, it's not meant that all the most ingenious candidates can successfully step into this multinational corporation. Those who can fulfil the defined qualification will be eliminated too despite the genious.

For example, during one talk session between a reporter and China Microsoft branch deputy principal Dr. Tham, he unveiled that he's very picky in recruiting the potential staffs. There are deluge of cases where the candidates were somewhat exceptional excellent, but their elimination was merely due to some fields that not perferctly suited to Microsoft's cultural-spirit and standard of values.

Let's have a case. There was a pasca-graduate from an elite university with excellent academic. He used to garner a prestigious award from one of his thesis title. Initially his accentuation drew Tham's attention, albeit he was out of pace too eventually.

After the rigorous analysis on his failure, the points he answered during interview session couldn't meet Tham's satisfaction.

One of the factors was: when asking why he chose that particular thesis title. His mild answer was with the assistance from his professor, he chose the title with no feisty aspiration. He added that it was definitely no problem for him to change the title either.

Amidst his frivolous sake, Tham couldn't feel this candidate's excitement and enthusiasm towards his career's principles. Being involve in the work of research and development, someone must infused with applied creativity, zesty interesting and tangible high spirit.

Next question would be testifying on the distrinction between Microsoft and his previous practical company. He exaggeratively praised Microsoft, meanwhile his previous company was scorned monstrously.

In Tham's view, if this face-to-face could look down of his previous company, he too, can do the same thing towards Microsoft in the future. His attitude was irrrational and lack of unswearving loyalty.

When both parties discussed the relationship with professors and lecturers, again, his answers was enormously disappointing. He critised many of his professors regarding their profession and qualification. This behaviour was acted against with Microsoft's principals which humility-oriented, and spirit of cooperation and generosity were highly promoted.

So, eventually, his attitude caused himself straightly fauling from the interview.

What's the verdict?

"Chen Ming"

Oh... my slumberland,
you are always so soggy and comfy,
yet without reluctancy, I woke with the dawn,
with a plain black T-shirt and track-bottom,
I came to you, my grandparents, and younger uncle.

Chinese idiom spells out..
Dizzle during the festival of Chen Ming,
passers-by come and go, enveloped with sombre atmosphere,
asking mildly the hut, having some drinks to repress the sorrow,
the blissful child pointing to village called "xin hua".

Modern epitome..
No dizzle, no sombre atmosphere;
no roadside alcholic stalls, no blissful child, no "xin hua" village..
all are wholly distinguished.
What in eyesight are..
sunny and splendid weather,
throngs of families, brothers and sisters,
accompanied by their beloved and imps,
all are soaked in gaiety and merriment,
talk in loud, soar over sky.
Old and young, work together, touching up the statue in marble.

Values behind..
Yes.. I like this genuine relationship,
asking for life, sharing joyous moment with young and old.
Topic of conversation is not the main issue,
yet the values of respectful, high-soared spirit, careful nurturing relationship,
are something continuously pampers our soul.
To the utmost gratitude, my two younger cousins seem so energistic.
They know the culture, they know the values,
So as do you?

Essence..
A festival of recalling and respecting ancestor,
should be cultivated by all generation.
Money-obsessed world is too stressing,
young generation gradually forget their root,
under the wave of western modernisation.
Appreciation of ancestors, is vanished and get consigned to a dimly lit of corner.
Without them, without you.
So, we as the next generation,
should preserve the goodwill and be the successor,
making this thousands of billions years chinese culture,
stay entrenched and deep-seated in our mind,
from generation to generation.

I'm an avid TV watcher. But, I won't simply over-indulge in any TV programme, and I'm quite picky in choosing the TV programme which can be very entertaining, and likewise can cater vast knowledge which I never know. More interestingly, since I'm still in my infancy of my long journey to empower english, too, I watch some english-conducted entertainments, to practice my ability in catching what's they say, and know the current lifestyle trend. You must know this reality: the english-educated group perserving its ethos seem apparently a massive distinction or gap with the chinese-educated ensemble, albeit are chinese.

So, the late show in 8TV is quite tantalising, especially the programme on wednesday and thursday midnight - a live programme from Starbucks, Sunway Pyramid. It's known as "latte at 8", hosted by an witty mat salleh, Jason Lo. This flabby dude, clad in a satin hawaii-inspired shirt and idiosyncratic mode of chinos, and with a kinda fluent malay vocal prowess: "Hai, saya mat salleh, sangat bodoh", "mari kita mulakan" etc, he manage to captivate the audiences, and his unconscious instant hilarious jokes and gestures are always so ludicrous and bring the laughter. The invited guests are varied also from the CEOs, like budgeted airlines AirAsia CEO Tony fernandes, to the celebrities, singers, actors, performers, deejays etc. I must say this programme is my cup of tea.

Not only that, the "Quickie", hosted by a pair of young and energistic duo, named Marion and Adam, is so for us to spare time to watch. They can alively compliment each other, and impeccably share their knows with the audience. The programmes that they host are quite enthralling, which are suited to the youth.

I can say that 8TV has fulfilled its pledge in providing a different vibe to the audiences. Yes, from the colourful animated layout design (which emphasis on turquoise- and fuchsia-coloured), the funny funny name for every programme (late -> latte, Quickie, english news twentyHundred, chinese news 8860events), less of advertisement, to the enthusiastic TV crew like Gary, Zack, Francessa, Kenji, Loretta and the tea lady Rose, I can notice the accentuated effort to give a fresh appearance to their audience. Besides this, their programmes are also up-to-dated. "American Idot" is somewhat another favorable source of entertainment for the youth.

Good jobs, 8TV. I should give a thumb-up. Preserve on your different vibe.
