Ipoh, Perak Darul Ridzuan, Malaysia

At the heart of Kinta Valley. The capital city of the state of Perak. An opposition stronghold. Factory of brilliant people. Desolated through emigration of its inhabitants to other parts of the country and overseas. Yet... it is forever remembered by its people.

As I was almost convinced that I would not have any blog to post and publish herein, I felt somewhat peculiar. Blogging has become a dominant force in directing and maneuvering my surfing activities. A moment ago, my newly and just downloaded and installed Netscape Navigator 7.02 browser hit ikanbakar weblog. Having read all those blogs in the morning, I instintively resolved not to glance over the left columm. Hence, I scrutinized the right columm, in which, the "UM faculty of medicine" link caught my attention and, fundamentally is the reason why I am blogging now! why? Criticise? Lambaste? NO! Then? Praise? Commend? NO either! I was in a state of wondering and curious! Being a computer science student and now "masquerading" as a "web developer", I couldn't control my mind not to think and sort out who are those architects who actually built and continue to maintaining that site? Primarily, it is due to the fact that the site is programmed using Java! Who are actually behind the scene? UM staff? or it is developed and maintained by freelance or hired web developers? This is just a trivial matter but it does boggle me to a certain degree :) Java is not really a big word and phobia to programmers but seeing for myself the standard of computer science studies in UM, I trust my hypothesis that Java is too huge and complicated for us rookies (with no proper and knowledgeable tutors) to apprehend! how much more using it to build web application! :/

I just watched the movie THe Matrix (1) last Saturday, wow
if i knew it was that good, i would have watched long time ago,
the concept is so believable !
and , i found a girl, that is so pretty, won't feel bored looking at her
check out her photos HERE!!

Dr Foo,MBBS (Malaya)

indeed,Xerox was one of the pioneers (together with IBM) of modern computing.microsoft bought some sort of coprights from them including the kernel source for DOS (if u know),which eventually became MS-DOS and that's where and when Bill Gates started to build his empire.it is true to say that modern computing started in the year we were born,1981,because most of the systems and technologies we are using now are based on the fundamentals of that introductory computer by Xerox.today, xerox is not merely a photocopier champ, there are many solutions and networking stuffs produced by this company.Stuffs may be ranging from operating systems to highly advanced mainframes.I don't think I will get to see also unless I can get into Stanford or other big established players in computing.and do you know that HP is also not producing only hardwares?they do have their own unix-based operating system called HP-UX which runs on servers or other super computers!phew...when u step on the land of Silicon Valley,I bet that u and I will be in absolute awe! :) There are thousands of scientists and geniuses doing, exploring, and experimenting researches and developments there.

wow , i didn't know Xerox make computers. Aren't they the photocopier champion?

Fact

This week in 1981, the first computer on the market with a mouse was introduced by Xerox with a price tag of $16,500.

Pasted herein was on of the "blogs" posted at Malaysia Transition weblog.UMNO's leaders have indeed unconsciously sparked many Malaysian readers into realisation and insight that "The Economist" isn't a secondary and trifling publication. Its coverage is more comprehensive and analytical than what I used to think..eg:well,it is just another inadequate mag...merely for economists (judging from its name)...how wrong, untrue and incorrect my perception was :(
Monday, April 28, 2003

Government leaders continue to whack the Economist, vowing to take action against the British magazine over a series of articles critical of the leadership of Dr. M. The government has discussed "effective" action against the Economist to serve as a warning for others writing such "baseless" articles, Pak Lah says.

National news agency Bernama reported that politicians and university students in Kedah burnt copies of the magazine to mark their protest.

My comment: Who says our politicians and students are not sophisticated? This action should be ample proof that not only do we have First World infrastructure, we also have First World mentality... NOT!

Meanwhile, the Economist articles are now being read by people who would not have even noticed them in the first place. Here's what veteran opposition leader Lim Kit Siang has to say about that: "If the objective is to draw the maximum publicity and attention of Malaysians to the Economist survey, the London weekly could not have found better publicists than the UMNO leaders. Why are the UMNO leaders doing the London weekly such a special favour?"

My comment: If the folks at Malaysiakini have got UMNO Youth to thank for reviving interest in their website, the folks at the Economist must thank UMNO for igniting interest in their magazine.

Fooji and all reading and blogging in this site,I can't help but to say that my brain is fast becoming rusty, indifferent, insensitive and slower. Why?Hah,I realised that my knowledge is getting shallower each day,my acquintance and awareness for Malaysian political scene have since long died, and worse still,I have become so lost and partially dwelling in wilderness that I don't really know what is actually happening around me here in Malaysia, how much more in the world.Sigh!Perhaps,it is time to wake up and start kicking, the need of getting rid of bad habits is so apparent!Fooji,THANKS!Because of you,I have rediscovered and unearthed my enthusiasm, passion and perfectionist thinking from my self-destructing ignorance.

Fooji, that was just a miss call, upon arriving in PJ.For the sake of using up the only bar left on my hp battery.Blogging and other technologies are evolving every second of the time.Did you get to read my father's comment at ikanbakar on the issue of a Malaysia health minister not being a doctor by profession?I would like to know your reaction and feedback on what my father had explained in his message.Regarding the blogging conference,I would like to join provided if I can afford to take my time and frustration off from all the forseen registration fiascos back in UM in June!

BTW,it may sounds like I am boasting about my field of study,Computer Science...but it is true that this field is a challenging field, ever evolving field at a swift pace we can ever imagine of,the advancement is in an exponential equation,it is used and overlapped with all areas of modern human life, and too cocky to be true, there are far too many geniuses of the world in the study of computing. Modern computing timeline spans around 2 decades and you just see how much it has achieved and come out with.20 years may be a bit too long but if you compare it with other timelines of studies, isn't it a relatively very short period of time?Because of this, that's why I feel that you can see many intelligent youths involving in computing design and programming and eventually making you the way of finding this new interesting hobby. :)

Teong, did you call me yesterday night?
Sorry , i was already sleeping. Or is that a miss call?
I finished church at around 4 pm, and then i went swimming , for 15 laps..tired man !

anyway, hope to see you, alright !
and,
to all IPoh friends, thanks for answering the invitation, let it not be a temporary thing, when you have time, and have lots to say, make sure you blog it in Ipoh Tauges.

Teong, bloggin is evolving,.. pardon me for sounding cocky,... this blogging thing involves mainly intelligent youth with a taste for writing and programming, and design.. that's why i find this new hobby of mine so darn interesting, almost overrunning my interest in medicine,...
I got this news that there will be a some sort of blogging conference in June, hey, i may want to join, you wanna come?

Simple-mindedness!Yeap...Fooji!I agree with you on this...ignorance,for certain situations are just so right!I second your statement!Needing a counselling session doesn't mean I am having serious mental problems :) As what I told you in the sms,I am perfectly fine!

Saturday, April 26, 2003

Dear Dr. Pang, MBBS(Malaya) ,
Thank you for your input, well, perhaps you can be right, but let me dwell in contentment for a while, alright. Come on, at times when our leaders are like shit, what Badawi did is something refreshing, regardless what is his motive is. It is good to be simple-minded sometimes. I'll cross the bridge when I come to it. Thanks anyway.

Teong, what happenned?
If you really need, I know of this fat doctor who is quite good, Dr. Gonzaga.
Are you okay ? I can also do some counselling, if really need !!!
Contact me , if you want it fast !!

Fooji and Pang or whoever in 6th,seriously,is there any good psychology doctor or counsellor around in UH?I tot of going for an thorough examination!Serious!

With reference to your article of singing praises of Abdullah Badawi, click here

Don't be so naive and gullible, Mr Foo. Abdullah Badawi may not be doing this for the sake of inter-religious harmony and so on. There a few other reasons why he did lift the ban. For one, elections are around the corner- he'll need all th votes he can get, especially from the non-Muslims now that the Malays are clearly divided over UMNO and PAS. The non-Malays voted the current BN government into power and it is they who can vote them out of power, even if it's just for a few parliment areas. Also, there is no guarantee that the lift on the ban is for long term. Thay can say one thing today an another tomorrow. Unless documents are signed between the Council of Churches and the Home MInistry, I would ot speak so highly of a yet untested Acting Prime Minister. I am open for correction, but this is my current stand. Perhaps, more importantly, the question that we all left out is why was there a ban on the Iban Bible after its 100 years in existance and circulation? Why at this particular time, when general elections are looming around the corner? Are there other forces at play and is it possible things are not as simple as they appear to be?

Welcome Shu Yee and Ben! Enjoy blogging from now onwards! I wonder...there are quite a number of links I posted, but do you guys and gals feel like reading? Perhaps no...arghhh...never mind! :) Fooji, it seems that u r able to refrain urself from blog! Maybe it is really really good for u! I am just...yes...just hoping that this training will be over very very soon! :(

Ipoh! Yeah,I am back! Well,a wonderful drive back last nite! At first,I kept telling myself...110km/h and the maximum would be 120km/h but it just din work out! I was reaching the Perak border...where came this Impreza! Phew! Impreza!!!!! Couldn't help...what did I do? Yeah! Accelerated! But in the end, I couldn't even smell the smoke of that Subaru! :( Well, once u r at 140km/h...u just don't feel like slowing down...perhaps the little bit of rain gave me the false reason that there would not be any speed trap! All the way 140km/h till Simpang Pulai! :/ haha...blame Impreza!!! hahahaha....

Hi everyone! I finally managed to join this world of blog.........so, how's life? ~ Shu Yee

haiya dudes. howz life?

Welcome to the world of blog,Pun! Why so kiasu? :) I am supposed to be kiasu but I don't! But I am getting mad, I involve in forums, signing up with team of researchers worldwide, talking stuffs and things not yet seen, surfing the net to find the history, evolution, concept and the force that inspired geniuses to come out with so many computing stuffs! Learning, reading, and exploring are just too interesting to be true! Again,it all comes back to the word "revamp"...style of studies in Comp.Sc just need to be like those in US...the environment itself there sparks the fire to give birth to excellent people! Indeed, after 10 consecutive working days,8 hours per day of sheer surfing plus reading plus foruming...I have the fire in me! and realising that how "blessed" the world is to have Benjamin Franklin! imagine how the world will be without the finding of electricity! I vote for electricity to be human's greatest finding!

hello people, look who's in at last. its pungundran here. how are all of you. ithas been a long time that i've seen and talked to some of you. life here has gone to maximum kiasuness. everyone and everything here is becoming kiasu. kiasuism rules!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The world hardest exam?  This article is rather profounding! MIT losing out to India Instiute of Technology?!hehe...read it! :)

What Larry Ellison, world's 2nd richest man said to Yale's grads

Fooji, I feel the same! Chatting thru blog is such an exciting thing to look forward each day! A lot of insights and wisdom to gain from Pang's 1st blog...okay...let us welcome him once again! Phew! Boon Teong O Boon Teong, time for a total personal revamp! haha...OBT shall be in Stanford or MIT or Carnegie-Mellon one day! What a blessing if it does come true one day! Whoaaaaaaaaaaaa! Wondering whether MMU will achieve such prestige status and fame like those mentioned unis one day! if not the world,Malaysia will do lah ;) BTW, to comment on Ennie said, battle against SARS?!hehe...as long as God wants it to be in dwelling, who can come against this SARS,this is a crucial end time era where unknown and perhaps "incurable" diseases haunt mankind...sounds too biblical and religious...but worths pondering through I believe!

I got some postings here. Sigh, they all still dunno how to use blogger, and the great things it can do for us to keep in touch. with the blogger, i feel like chatting with teong every day !! anyway, let us welcome Pang to the IPoh Tauges. His first blog is an interesting one about his adventure in shah alam. haha, i wonder when he will write another one.
anyway here is something you should read: -
1) from ennie
Comment: We have one major superstar these days - SARS. It seems now many events
are postponed or cancelled due to SARS. EARC now remains only for Malaysian
students. Asian's Debate is now postponed to October. Glad in a way that I can
enjoy my time in Ipoh but I know many people are disappointed especially if they
are the organisers. Well, let's hope the battle against SARS will be over soon.

2) from Benedict D.

Keep your postings,coming friend !!

Interesting...I also want to know where the loop hole is! Anyway, did you grant him the right to post and publish? There are too many computer smart *** out there! And they are really geniuses...ishhh...why lah my computer skills and knowledge are like nursery children! :(

Teong, when i opened ikanbakar today, i found a porno photo !
who is that bastard who do that? my first guess would be a jew whom i commented on his racist blog.
shit man, i feel so insecure now. Nasib baik , i can republish... how does that happen??
how do i protect from future attacks?

Have you ever wondered why some people are watching over gates and people from 9-5, while others are achieving BIG things like managing a multinational company, saving human lives and doing continuous research? It all boils down to attitude and character. Which brings me to my main topic. I was at Abbott Laboratories today (yes, Boon Teong, your dad's company) looking for sponsorship. I was met at the gate by this Indian guy named Daniel. Politely, I explained the reason for my presence and visit. But was it reciprocal? NO way. I was treated like lesser than a criminal, disallowed entrance and served to a dose of rudeness unparalled even in Petaling Street. Turned away, but not turned off, I retreated to the car and made a phone call to the manager, who politely invited me in for a quick discussion. Back at the gate, I flaunted the invitation. Man, it was a rare experience- seeign an Indian guy turn red. Anyway, his own attitude and character have relegated him to be stuck at the gate for the rest of his youth. So much for an inflated ego and not knowing where he stands. Personality and values, indeed, make the person. Have a nice day, Daniel...wherever you are....but then again...where else can you be but the gate?

the pretty senior is lynette loo,the one i co-emcee with for Christmas nite last year?. you know her right? With the strenous time in Klang, she is slimmer now, and yes, i think she's pretty.
about the others, maybe they are not so interested in doing a lil bit of coding, and they perhaps mistaken the editing board for the real webpage, maybe they don't they have to go to blogger.com to log on also. Maybe we should a reintroduction and reinvitation la, teong.

Fooji : One more question, who is the pretty senior you and pang went out with? hehe...sounds like a desperado!!! nvm...perhaps next time u shud intro her to me...err...not so fast...this weekend i shall b back in Ipoh!

BTW, I want to ask and comment about one thing for a very long time already! Where are the others? They don't like interneting? and never even bother to sign up and have a look! Shit man! arghhh... dun care, we just continue on our own! :)

The very fact that UM is not producing competent and knowledgeable computer science grads is clear!UM is producing *astards, useless monkeys, idiots like me!Opps...do not mean to be so rough!NUS website...what I have to say:-

1. Updated frequently with many features around. UM's one...haha..you come back 10 years later also the same!Just see the differences in the layouts and colours!

2. The site is linked to other lively and informative sites within NUS and outside NUS!UM's site is either linked to dead end sites or dull sites with not much info!

Haha,my point of view as a web developer! Just want to say that errr...bravo to UM as the mailing system uses PHP...an open source language to build...instead of Microsoft ASP technology! :) UM site needs a total revamp and redesign lah... too classic and old fashioned already!

Regarding my work, hmmm, at first, this morning, i was on fire to start coding but upon looking at those sample coding and trying to figure out how those "shit" works and still pretty blur, i decided to go into madness of "foruming" again! My supervisor... I think he looks too high upon me or what... I dont know... maybe he is a genius...can catch up by looking at examples and by few days of learning... i dont think he is correct in assuming me can do the same!!! arghhh... all rubbish!!!! let's go foruming again!!!!

Teong, it is confirmed, i made the diagnosis myself. That I am chronically addicted to blogging. Sigh, what to ar? anyway,
wanted to this long time,.. compare this webpages:-
and . what a letdown for us here, isn't it?

Vibrant Homepage!
Have a look at the design of the page! The colors used are so lively and great! If you want to explore something, perhaps you can try to have a look at those code snippets!haha...joking!

Tuesday, April 22, 2003

Fooji, very sorry, cant explain to you how because I belum kaji the whole template coding! I can see that the page uses table...which mean you need to do some redesign with the table columms and rows if u want to change the body size!

Click here and know what I am doing all day long in my office!Crazy!Indulge myself in forums as such!Pretty interesting and great to be able to hear opinions from programmers and developers from around the world! :)

Fooji, can't really tell you whether this is dangerous! :) This is maximum insanity! errr...perhaps you should wrap up the proposal and posters stuffs first! Im not giving up...the fact is if I m given my own sweet time to think,to study,to plan and redesign, maybe I am able, not saying 100%, to come out with a web based application. Since I have to follow their specs and design thingy...it is hard lor...furthermore I dont have anyone to help me out! Even if I ask my supervisor,he will be telling me all those theories and fundamental stuffs...macam lah aku tak tau...buku pun ada lah! Right this moment, I just need a person to help me, perhaps telling me where and how am I going to start! BTW,i do also want to see my system running in the end of the day, giving some sort of satisfaction and feeling of a achievement in life! ;)

Monday, April 21, 2003

Teong, this really MAdness. I went to library at seven, started studying at 7, and left the building at 9.30pm. Guess where am I heading to ?
YEs !! I went to the comp lab to proceed with my Blogging Madness!! IS this dangerous?? I have a proposal to write , 2 posters to design, many chapters to study, and yet, i go and Blog !!!
Wei, teong, don't give up la on your project !!! Wo dui ni you xin xin

M-A-D-N-E-S-S...what a word!perhaps i will find a sweet time to type another mail related to madness! WHY??? I can hear ppl asking...haha...well,this world is full of madness...i tell you what...programmers are all nuts! i can summarised that all programmers work more than 10 hours a day...looking at monitor like their wives or husbands! nuts! maximum insanity! dun believe me?...go and check out every IT company...u survey for urself what time they start work and what time they go home! therefore all those IT jokes u received thru mails or joke books about those IT workers are definitely true! programmers are into their own world and their brains are either errr..burnt or fused!!!short circuit maybe..think too much...or looking at those stupid and never make sense programming language too much!subsequently they become wierdos also!!!hahahaha...

Fooji O Fooji,u drowned urself in blog madness whereas i immersed myself into surfing! what the heck? not working? shit! work what!?!! dont even know how and what and where to start my dynamic coding! u know what i surf? ok..things like "asp vs php" , "bmw vs mercedes" , "german tech vs italy tech"...my goodness...im in madness also!!!
no problems for me to maintain those sites for u in the future...my pleasure...haha :) Marissa link i left it in my laptop..no worry...will post the link later! alex kleeman..sounds familiar :/ ... whatever! wow! i found alex kleeman in that site...hey...the girl there...errr...i dun think "she" is alex kleeman anyway...chun man!!! look at her eyes...ishhh...pretty!!! :p

Teong,
maybe I should be more patient, readership will increase in time to come. Ikanbakar is just like 3 weeks old.
In the midst of blogging-addiction-craziness, i developed 2 more sites, as a swing off from ikanbakar, namely 11th hour and zeal.com.
This is madness, man.
But come to think of it, i think i have only about 5 more months to do all this, when i'm posted to Klang in december, highly unlikely i can blog like this. Not willing to spend money in internet cafe. Maybe teong, you can maintain the sites for me, by then !!
Give the link to Marissa's la.
There are plenty of bloggers who are pretty and are webdesigner like Karyn ! Go to this site and look for alex kleeman !!

Yeah! the whole site only the both of us "talking"! really shit! anyway, since u r oredi addicted, let me recommend u another blog site..it is a site built by a girl.."marissa" something like dat...bet that she is really a chun girl! no waste...haha...Karyn is a web developer...web design thingy is actually a different field...who cares...it is the same...haha...suddenly i miss "seeing" Karyn lah! shit...perhaps it is time to ask permission from my manager to go to Affin Tower again! ;) :p Congrats! U managed to put up the pics!!!

Teong, looks like we change the name of this blogsite to Teong and Fooji !
Really, my bloggin addiction is soaring, what more especially when I am now added in Ricebowljournals. TEong, here you can find bloggers so pretty and interesting, and most of them are darn good in web design, you know what this mean ,... lots of KARYN LIM to be found !!

Fooji: 1) I understand the instinct! haha! I also dont know why, interneting is just so fun! agree? 2) the pics prob...the url, i mean the address link is something like /?xxx?xxx, err...hard to explain also, if it is long wif question marks, then the page has been made dynamic, which means, variables/pointers are assigned to refer to the pics..so the adds also keep on changing lor... 3) nothing's wrong with me...hey ppl all around...i m still pretty fine!!! dun u think i m always cheerful..well, im not pretending! 4) selalu lupa lah nak post mail kat Ipoh Taauge... sorry ya!!! :)

Friday, April 18, 2003

Teong, ( other friends also la)
looks like 1)i cannot control the instinct to visit the comp lab, and i am blogging again. 2) the pics got some problem, why ar? why i cannot link it to the photos i keep in Yahoo? when i refresh the page, it's gone. Is it because Yahoo changes the http add all the time?

Read your email: Dunno what to say, but I want to tell you that I share your struggle, albeit in a different setting. Anyway, cheer up man !
One question, why don't you post the mail to Ipoh tauge also ?

Fooji:- Perhaps u should study computer sience/software engineering! ahaha! :) and then become the webmaster! providing information! and u like coding! if u have time try to view the source of yahoo homepage! cekap! BTW, hard to predict where you are lah! Now in Kl then in Ipoh! :) anyway, I understand! ;) actually I also have loads of things to study...need to do thesis liao...somemore my basics in all those previous subjects also not strong...need to sort like cover back...shit man!!!

Teong, yes lor, i know about that code img src for some time, but only found out that i can use those linking to fetch photos to the page. With this trick, wah, can make the blogsite look so professional. No need to have even more canggih features la, static doe okay la....

The study load is so heavy now, and I think I should not visit the computer lab so often now, maybe I should stop blogging for a week. But i am enjoying playing with the codes, and writing something for people to read, it's getting addictive. Maybe I should have been an online journalist or columnist , agree?

So, I shall try this:- no more spending too much time with the internet.

Fooji,r using the link tag : <a href=xxxxx>???then with the <img scr=xxxxx>??? actually as i said HTML not hard one...just put in tags!!!no programming needed...that's why static one lor ;)

Thursday, April 17, 2003

TeongTeong ! I am delighted to tell you that i have found another 'trick' to put photos !!
have a view of the ikanbakar site by just clicking on my photo! This is fun.

posted originally in talkFirst,ActLater

Yet another Wednesday entry.
Not surprising, at home, and can’t concentrate on that bloody brain stem chapter, all i want to do is write something to the blog. Think I made 3 wrong decisions this week: - To return to college on Sunday; to return yesterday ; to agree to let Indah Water pump the shit out of my house
.

Which brings me to the topic – Indah Water
My father gave me grumblings over the decision, which made me, in the end, broke my word and refused to let them do it. Reason that my father give is that we are not going to pay for the charge of Rm 72 per year as ours are individual ‘private’ septic tanks, and used no service of Indah water. This issue has been lingering for some time, because we hardly notice the service and toils of Indah Water, and their lack of accountability too, to layperson like my father does not help the issue. So, I guess we are yet another household who turn a deaf year to them. Myself, I think no harm letting them do it, and pay the charges, but inevitably they will cause mess to my kitchen.

Really, Indah Water is one of the worst privatisation project. Why privatise this area in the first place? When you charge like that, typical Malaysians aren’t going to pay and appreciate, but if you charge hiddenly in water bills, ah…. I see ancient wisdom at work.
Those stupid PR campaigns don’t help too, it’s just too exaggerated and fake.If only they hire me to boost their corporate image

Fooji,
Give me time to explore the whole thing...perhaps on the 14,15 May that week..gonna have 5 days break...surely will have time to "yin kau"...
yeah!what the heck with SARS?haha :)

boonteong,
you really blur about SARS? that's dangerous, suddenly you die also dunno why!!
Anyway, it a respiratory sickness caused by a certain virus, that is new to us, and yet to be able to document the whole disease properly, with no definite cure, that's why it is still called a syndrome, and not a disease. Now, to be careful , you do not need to stay away from doctors, hospital and all, but can take precaution like washing hands, wearing mask in GP clinics, and A&E in hospital, and boost your immune system. Cases in Malaysia is not as bad as in HongKong and Singapore, so we can still peacefully without panic! Enjoy! Be scared of dengue and AIDS more!

teong, nice colour.
Why don't you visit the other blogsites to get some ideas? I want to see pictures in the site lo.

Teong,
i had similar dreams like that, and i think for that dream to be perfect and beneficial, it's better for us not to remember the bride's face, lest we launch a Cinderella-hunt for the girl. Maybe, teong and karkin, can add more links, and a feedback/comment feature to this site!
and yes, invite more people la, shimin also can, not ipoh-mali, we can naturalise them.
Have a nice day, everybody. Till then, take life easy, think about God, and not let stupid frustrating things like SARS to kacau us.

oh yes!i finally managed to changed the font color!just tell me what kind of design u all want!will try my best to edit it...is the font type on the mainpage ngam?

As blur as I am,as stupid as I am,as gloomy as I am,as doomed as I am,I am wondering what is actually happening around me!What the heck with SARS!I hardly read any news about it...imagine lah,I have not touched the newspaper for weeks! When I online,I also malas to read the electronic version!A sign of failure person!Had a dream last nite...sort like I heard a newscaster mentioning "Presiden Iraq,Saddam Hussein mati apabila jet tentera Amerika Syarikat berjaya mengebom gerabak yang dnaikinya dalam perjalanan menuju....".Well,I can be a preacher of gloom and doom because all these while all my dreams are all wars and diseases related only! The only sweet dream I had is my wedding! What the heck u might think...haha...who is the girl???well,I m still searching;looks like pretty Korean...really...it is only a DREAM!!!and truly it is a DREAM!!!
Fooji:shall I invite Shi Min also???since she is so ngam with u ppl :)

Tribute to my grandmother, Mdm Ngui Ah Khoon
A humble lady, unassuming, and play her motherly and grandmotherly role with perfection without pretension.
She is now afflicted with renal and heart failure, and the family decided to let her take the natural course. For me, it is quite a dillemma, being a med student and knowing the possibility of reversing it. However, i have spoken to two doctors, and they share the same view with my family members.

To see her semi-conscious and waiting for the final breath to take, can be very painful. For her and for me.
I salute this lady, who has lived a ripe old age, most of her lifetime spent in Falim,Ipoh, and has touched my childhood and early teenage a great deal. Teaching me humility and kindness. She never had the chance to go schooling, if not, she might have been prominent figure. May God bless her.

dear people., regarding the serious article about Chua's decision not to release the SARs cumulative cases, it might have a sensible side to this decision, so I am taking back my criticism on this decision. Wasn't really reading carefully, however, i still think it a bit RIDICULOUS for a lawyer to be put in charge of doctors. What an Insult !! To the less pure ones, my prof once told me, :- That Chua Jui Meng, Coxsackie is what he does. Don't understand? nvm la

Li Yien's email next time, post it here also la !!

Aloha people!!!

Haha i din excuse myself yet again from work....dont worry. But the thought wasn’t far from my mind..perhaps friday....hmm....

Anyway to tell you all the truth i din have much to do today..lets see, very early in the morning, the specimens are not there yet, and this morning i was so sleepy i could barely keep my eyes open! Then after that, we had tea, a certain dr. Khairul is leaving so he belanja us makan, then talk there from 9.10 till 10.45, go back into the lab, this week i’m in the biochemistry lab :P watch how they run qc n the test then go out for lunch, chat from after lunch till finish work. Jus wanna say that i’m not lazy, but that today my section is all fully automated, its just inserting the samples and the machine will do all the rest, so there is really nothing much to do.(by the way, you all should really consider buying abbott shares...even the computer system also by them plus the solutions that we use!all also from them .such clever sales tactic!!!)... but yesterday and the day before i was working till my leg hurts, there were so much samples...esp on a monday. Then my gloves had to changed 5-6 times per day because it gets tainted with blood...talk abt having blood on your hands.....

Yeah something real intersting happened yesterday. We went to see a post mortem. I know pang n fooji ask/dare me to go see in um but i refuse. Should have taken up the challenge then cause i think it would be a much nicer cadaver! I was just coming back from breakfast and about to go in to work when my friend called me and told me to go see a post mortem....so i also blur blur go along....but i do remember to take mask along! Smart mah..:P

The smell was terrible. Its just bad....and the mask din help one bit! I was shocked and felt like vomitting when i see it. If you all have seen the movie shrek, it actually looks something like that. He fell into a mining pool and wasnt found till 3 days later...not the nicest thing around to see. We saw how the doc cut from the abdomen and took out the heart, liver, ribs. Guess i shouldn’t describe it too vividly for you all here....if you are interested, ask me in person la....but i guess once is more than enough for me....:P...surprisingly we all still had much appetite to eat afterwards!

Apart from that and also a quite humiliating thing that we did yesterday night to celebrate our friend’s birthday, in which we brought a cake to the middle of a field at the park between dbi and syuen....haha..all the spotlight also on us...quite funny but fun anyway! Though my birthday view was much better.....all the way from gasing hill!

Haha what sweet and pleasant memories!!!

Siew wei: wah lau yeh!!!!!!!!!!your job so nice....but diarrhoea pula....happy recovering!

Anne : your mail not that short after all....in these times who could be certain of things yet to be but God?????take care sister!

Grandpa michael : i dunno whether its intentional or not, but then again..sigh.....i so disappointed at you!!!!!!!!

Take care all of u! I shall write again!

Yup, i shall definitely write again...din manage to send out the mail before this..so i thought might as well add on some things.....there was quitea bit of commotion today near 4. you see our dear chua jui ming decides to visit the hosp so once again they change the quarantine ward....so ppl the ward to avoid is 2c and 5c now....so the commotion is when we were inform that they haf to move the patients to the new ward via the passage in front of our lab!!!!!we were so terrified and you jus see all these security guards planning for the evacuation....very tension...but the ppl in our lab ask us to leave early....and dont bother about punching cards!!!haha...but they all wait in front of the counter with the windows close to watch while we all gather up all our friends and leave hurriedly...it was fun also la despite it being quite chaotic for all of us...but just to be safe...i decided ,that fri and sat will be my holidays!i know you all thing that i am lazy...but my sis and bro calls back from spore so frequently to be careful....so taking their advice only..yup, thanks for calling. Your sister here also very kiasee one. Dont worry.

Ok. Take care and god bless. J

Boon teong's email next time, post it here also la !!
hi frens,
long time no mailing you people!really nothing much to update you guys and gals
lah!many of you seem to be enjoying your training,so different from me..not to
say I dont enjoy mine, the difference is that you all know what you are expecting
and you know you gonna gain something, gonna learn something which you understand
and know!whereas me,well,i do not know what kind of expectation that I am
supposed to have,I do not know what I am gaining, the only thing I know here
is..I copy and paste..modify source codes, just change the fields or the
parameters and then make sure it runs..that's it!what the heck!they are teaching
me the art of modifying!I dah lah poor in programming..I expect to like learn
and build up my programming knowledge and skills here..but as what I am going
thru now..sigh!!!I also dont know what to say!!!People say got to learn all by
urself..mati lah me if like dat!!!Even if Im copying I also dun understand the
coding..know to add and delete fields when required on
ly..how to survive like dat!!!
been thinking and expecting some bleak future when I grad..phew!sound very
extremely pessimistic huh?!?!yes!!!!u dont know how to play golf...but wanna
play in a tournament to fight with tiger woods..doesn't make sense, right?the
same situation i m in now!
well, perhaps it is good that the day of doom and gloom is near!!!with all the
signs of wars and unknown and new diseases and viruses!!!hahaha...no need to
"fan" so much!!!no worry of whether you will be able to earn a living to support
urself!!!no fear of whether u will survive in this competitive world where only
the fittest will survive!!!since everyone and everything is doomed!!!hahaha....
do i support war in iraq?yes!andddddd...no!hehe...playing the fool it
seems...hehe...well,frankly we dont and never going to know, what Bush is aiming
and what Saddam is holding!!!agree??? some of u might say..Bush is going for the
oil!!!what the heck..what if Saddam really has some kind of agendas and weapons
on his own...then,some of u might say,war is not only the choice what???i ask
u,if not war,how r u going to push this Saddam out???this kind of discussion
will have no ending one ler..furthermore,war is not a sin...during those ancient
Bible times,God did use wars to show His power and glory...so we cannot say
altogether that war is wrong also ;)
whatever view u have, nobody has the right to say it is wrong..it all depends on
how u feel and what u believe in lor :p
leslie cheung's death!what the heck!jumped off from a posh hotel and settle
everything!he might thought of that..well,he never knew that he has to stand
before God to clarify things..haha..he still has to settle with God ;)
hmmm..really dont understand, with so much money he has, still wanna go from this
world...i really dont understand...i wanna drive BMW so much,but I m not rich,I
cant afford and I dont think I will ever afford one, when i see one around,i will
sort like cry to myself, why ppl can drive such a car and i cant, why im so
useless,u know how much i long for one...but sigh..this leslie cheung simply can
afford one at anytime of his will, chose to die?!?!?!so ar..i dont know lah is it
really true that riches and wealth bring no happiness???i wonder...really
wonder...how u know...are u a rich and wealthy person???u urself know lor...not
living in riches and wealth cannot guarantee u happiness also right???...
what else?SARS?yeah...perhaps it is time for you and i to read more of the book
of Revelations.
apart from this...dunno lah...perhaps for those of you who are too bored, take
some time to give me nice 4 digits or 6 double digits (toto jackport)...maybe i
can make my fortune..hahahahahaha..dunwan to work
oredi!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!like shit only!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
hahahaha..........
take care lah...ciao!

Boon Teong.

apa macam????y onli teong and fooji onli???hmm...

aloha ppl! li yien here...

robert richard!i din really go and explore lah the whole thing...dats y aku begitu blur!anyway, the colour codes are all in hexadecimal numbers...u got o google and type html color code...enter the webmonkey site...u can see for urself all the colours supported by most browsers!haha..hey,dun u know how to play online ICQ?type go.icq.com...an java applet will pop up..then u juz enter ur icq number and password...u will be able to play icq oredi!!!no need install one!!!u free this saturday???

my friend, boonteong ! You are the expert, why you ask me ??? You can change the pattern of it all, by intefering with the codes in the template. Don't you see the TEMPLATE button up there? Ya , Allah, blurnya engkau ooi !!!!
I thin k about the color also can change la !! Just put in extra codes loh, but I dunno la,.. still a robert richard !!
wei, tell me all the colour codes la? I know like 666666, 339966, something like that ?

and one more thing,as u enter in to the admin page,u can see that my fonts and all the colors are different right, but why when i publish my postings, the tags which i used never seem to function on the main page! =) perhaps u know!!! haha

tell lah earlier next time! u suddenly gave me the admin status sure i am bit blur with the whole ongoing process! by the way, this means special effect [html tags] used in the admin page can't be shown in real web page lah???
as far as i know, this blogger site allows u to edit its contents one right???
i did see some javascripting inside there...i mean the layout of the page...
perhaps u can include some date, time functions on the main page...

Chua’s unsatisfactory briefing to MPs yesterday, like his briefing to newspaper editors-in-chief the day earlier, had only made things worse by further damaging public credibility and reinforcing concerns that the health authorities are not on top of the SARS outbreak because of a complete lack of understanding of the critical importance of public confidence in any effective strategy to combat a public health menace like the new killer virus, which had killed at least 103 people, infected 2,800 people in some 28 countries in four continents.

For instance, the announcement by Chua on Monday that his Ministry would no longer give the cumulative number of suspected SARS cases had been met by public consternation that the three-day semi-transparency on the SARS outbreak after the Cabinet meeting last Wednesday was being further curbed, raising questions in many minds as to what the Ministry is trying to hide.

Furthermore, it has created confusion galore about the actual number of SARS cases in the country, which is not calculated to inspire public confidence in the capability, professionalism and transparency of the authorities in dealing with the SARS outbreak.

This has forced some newspapers like New Straits Time and Sin Chew Daily to keep their own score of the cumulative number of suspected SARS cases, namely as of yesterday, 99 suspected cases, five families quarantined, 32 isolated in wards, two probable cases and one death – as it is a matter of public interest as well as the public’s right to know the cumulative number of SARS cases every day.

Or will Chua be issuing a directive to the newspapers to ban them from toting up their own cumulative number of SARS cases every day, just as the newspapers had earlier been warned not to give front-page prominence to the SARS outbreak or to highlight any SARS death so as not to scare off tourists?

Chua Jui Meng, as a lawyer, has no place in healthcare administration. He should RESIGN.

Mr. T3ong, you should remember to publish your posting. Just click on the Post&Publish button.
By the way, where are all your postings? I see new members coming, but no news. Maybe, you are not sure of how it works?
Now, there are 2 interface, the post and admin page, and the real website page. After you publish your post, click on the view web page to see the product lo. This may be insulting to your computer literacy, sorry !

Not much progress here huh?! =) anyway, thanks for joining! phew! 6 more weeks to go man! just can't wait till the 23rd of May! fed up of working already! so blur and so dull and sooo..dunno...

Fooji : It seems that you are getting sort like sick with web programming already!Haha..

Welcome to the World of Computing and Technology!

Well, actually programming is a crazy thing lah though like what you said...it is so powerful and useful and interesting.
I need to admit that I have not been putting enough effort in my studies lor all these while.Lepak until last minute only study! What the shit!
Perhaps,I really need to get rid of my laziness already! There are so many for me to explore!
Need a lot of hardwork and self-initiative!!! =)

Kah Jin, Kah Jin .. blogging is different from chatting la. Here, you can post one lump, big chunk of things to say, at the same also facilitate small talk like this. No need to blog everyday, just when you feel like sharing some stories lor. This place got future one, until people like boonteong and karkin come up with a very own website la. Really, programming is so interesting and useful !!
You all got admin status already, those who pakar in HTML, make new features la.
And please invite others, everyone from Ipoh, la, from ACS esp, not exclusive to 6AA only. Teong, please invite machas' like kooifatt, cheemeng, and all.

News from Wong Siew Wei, got from my email, 11.34 am, 8th April
Hey frens…..today was my first day of the practical training. So, I would like to share some of my experiences with u all. Initially, this email is intended to send to my coursemates....So, if u find ths email is irrelevant, just bear with me,ok? Thanx....I went to work at the Jabatan Kesihatan Ipoh at 8:00am, there were 4 of us all together….2 foodtech students and two QC students…..The foodtech students are Lim Kit Yee and Lily and the two QC students are Farah and i….Actually, I dun know those foodtech students….but I thnk we adapted well with each other….they are quite friendly whereas I’m more passive and quiet……

So, the Mr.Thayalan that I told u b4…..he gave us some briefing and he is such a nice guy…..i heard that he was also a foodtech graduate frm UPM….and the only Food technologist in the whole of Perak who hold such a high post….He is the Penolong Ketua Pengarah at the State Health Department J

Anyway, our training programme is quite funny……for one month, we will be attached to Dewan Bandaraya Ipoh to do whatever that involved food…..EXCEPT WORKING IN LAB!! I really dun know what to say….coz we really cant work in the lab due to some technical problems….

Anyway, I think that it is also a blessing from God ….i said ths bcos our jobs are rather interesting….we got to run here and there…visit many places J That would include….food sampling – which means we take the food sample from the hawker stalls or end products from factories and send it to the lab, throughout the process, we must maintain the temperature and procedures.

We will also visit to the food factories ( ice-cream, kicap, roti, can drinks, biscuit, bihun, mee segera, etc) we got to observe the operation flow from raw material to the end products….

This Saturday, we will be doin an inspection to the wet market/ pasar tani at the Stadium. Anyway, I’m not so sure of what we’ll be doin there….maybe more to sanitation and hygienic inspection of the hawker stalls.

We will be doin ‘rampasan stock’ at supermarkets like Makro and Parkson Grand…actually it’s more like checking stocks of their expiry dates and the condition of the cans according to the Food Act and Food Law…..if they didn’t fulfill the Food Act and Food Law, it can be charged and brought the case to the court. Such a pity bcos I should have taken the subject Food Act and Food Law from Dr. Yazid ths sem…then, I will know better J

The officer who will supervise us will be Mr. Manisegaran….he is a nice guy too JHe has taken good care of us and tried to fight for us so that we can wear jeans to work….if not, we’ll hav to wear long skirts during all those outings…..even pants is forbidden!! Then, in the evening, he gave us some booklets, documents to read….Hey, I got to look at our Seniors’ Report….So, we got a rough idea on how to do it…..job will be a lot more easier J

So, after one month, we’ll go back to the State Health Dept….Then maybe we’ll hav the chance to deal with lab works….We’ll also learn more about HACCP…..Frens., Mr.Thayalan told us that HACCP is really important…so, u all must take extra knowledge of it also J

So, that’s all for 2day, 2moro, we’ll be visiting the ice-cream factory…J looking forward for that…Hey, one more thing….We can start work at 9am J I AM REALLY SO HAPPY…..CAN WORK UP A BIT LATE IN THE MORNING....

Gosh!I have relatively 6 or 7 weeks more!Shit man!So many things to do,the documentation,user's manual,administrator's manual,COM+ objects,client-side and server-side scripting not yet done!!!Not easy man to be a project manager on your own!!!Asking me to build an web-based e-timesheet system!!!Networking architecture also belum design..gosh!!!!!!!!

blogging? what's the difference with other chats?

doing my assignment. lots more to do and due tomorrow. pray for me. so, kar kin, teong and fooji's in tauge is it? anyone else?

later guys ....

Achtung!

=) Yo! Nowadays, really crazy about Germany! Argh..all those German stuffs..they are damm cekap and advanced in engineering an technology especially no need to say also everyone knows = AUTOMOTIVE!!!Cheah How and Chee Meng came over to PJ on Saturday nite and we had our yum cha session from 11pm till 4 am!!! haha.. all the way, talked about cars, automotive design+engineering, mecahnical+transportation engineering kat German, industrial training experiences, bla bla bla...of course Japan never escape from our yum cha topic tradition =) 8=======D

Robert Richard!Today you only send me the invitation!I visited the ikanbakar site liao!in fact a couple of times already yesterday morning!

Am I the second person who join Ipoh Tauges? Well, that's why fooji asks me the teach him html yesterday.....now i know...anyway, very glad to come back to our community again...LONG LIVE WITH 6AA!!! Hopefully, all of others 6AA ex-classmates can back to out big family....jom....dun play play....another things...10s to fooji also to start this.....now i'm learning the asp...which is the server-side scripting...i hope tat at the rest of the time, i can create one community for our 6aa.....dun woli, it's coming soon....lastly, best wishes to all of u.....

Really, really blogging is fun. I actually came to this computer lab in my faculty to type out my CFCS report, but sigh, the hangat-hangat tahi ayam of creating this site all by myself, and self-learning a little bit of HTML, is too exciting to put off till tomorrow. Actually, the third term of my second year can be very taxing, and the workload is already piling. But hey, who cares, i just want to do what I like, for the time being. After all, exam is in August !
Boon teong or karkin, need to learn much more from you guys !!
Let's pray for the war, SARS and friends.

Now, I discovered blogging just last Saturday, while in good old Ipoh. Was actually surfing for some pretty photos till I landed on some blog sites, and got myself so addicted !! Perhaps, writing has always been my passion, albeit not my talent.
Anyway, my dear friends from ACS Ipoh, especially, we once had community zero and now, we use email to update each other.
I offer you all this blogspot.com, where it is totally free, easy to learn, HTML based, and you can write all crazy stuff, it would be great. Join this site, be a writer, and just keep it rolling.
